Only 6 more weeks of Winter? Oh please. This is Minnesota.
“Backyard Bob” says another 6 months is more like it. Ha.
My cat Raven loves to sit in the window to watch birds and get some fresh air. Recently, she was in our master bathroom window doing just that, when the “unthinkable” happened.
I had the windows open, airing out the house…
Well, first I must give some background here: Our master bathroom door never latches. The house is over 20 years old and it settled in such a way that the door will not latch when closed. I have tried countless times and countless ways to remedy that issue, but alas…
Anyway, Ravi was enjoying a lovely day, perched on our master bathroom windowsill…
As you can see here, I usually prop the door open so the air current doesn’t close it.
This cat has issue with closed doors – she hates them.
But on this particular day, I forgot to move the hamper. Guess what happened – that’s right! The door not only closed, but it LATCHED!
Oh the Horror!!
I was downstairs when I heard *thump thump thump* and wondered what on Earth was going on up there…went upstairs and found the closed/latched door with a kitty on the other side furiously trying to open it by clawing under the edge and pulling. She succeeded in freeing a few chips off the bottom edge, but that’s as far as she’d gotten.
Very relieved to be freed from her prison, she ran out of the bathroom. I propped the door open to avoid a repeat and came out to my bedroom to find Raven stretched out on the floor in the doorway. She proceeded to vocally scold me. She was mad! This cat rarely meows at all, so it was rather concerting. I offered to pet and cuddle her, but she was having none of it. I apologized repeatedly to no avail.
All I could think was that it would be Murph’s Law: the one time the door latches would be when ‘Fraidy Cat was inside. Oy. Won’t make THAT mistake again!
A little humor: Our bun in the oven is now half-baked. LOL!
Well, I think it’s funny, anyway… Today we are 20 weeks along – half way there!
Had our ultrasound today and saw our little boy in detail. He bounced around, annoying the technician while she was trying to take measurements and photos, sucked his tumb and even yawned a few times!
More Holiday Fun! Hahahahhahaa! I’m dizzy just watching this!
This never gets old. ROFLMAO – Until I cry!!
Humor is a great Holiday stress reliever!
A good laugh to start the day:
According to Today.com, Norwegian photographer Torgeir Berge took Tinni his German Shepherd on a walk, and they ran into this fox! Berge named the Fox “Sniffer.”
Now Tinni & Sniffer hang out all the time!
Berit Helberg is writing a book on the duo with Berge.
This song has been making the rounds at the local schools. Very cute [earworm]!!
Apparently I’m late to the party, ’cause yesterday was National Dog Day! I love my pooch. She’s coming up on 14 years of age in September. She loves walking with me. She sets the pace: sniffing and doing her dog thang.
To celebrate, Delenn actually did something extremely UNcharacteristic:
Must be the extreme heat and humidity – kinda like how she hates being rained on. She’s a water dog and will jump into any body of water available, but hates being spritzed or rained on. Go figure.
Anyhoo, happy belated National Dog Day! *Woof!*
That bird was at it again Thursday morning: tweetering on the fence outside the window, teasing the cat. He knew exactly what he was doing, too!
I went outside to get a closer look (and a photo!) and the bird didn’t even flinch. He sat there chirping and dancing along the fence. When my neighbor came over to chat while cleaning out front, the cardinal came over and perched in the arborvitae tree not more than ten feet from us, tilting his head and chirping as if he were part of the conversation.
Maybe the feeder needs more seed?
Raven has some interesting habits, even for a cat. She loves to brush herself:
And loves to rub her face in/on shoes and socks. LOL
Cats sure are characters. That’s probably why cats are one of the most popular subjects on the internet – love ’em or hate ’em. Who are we kidding? EVERYONE loves cats!
